Why It Is Not One Market

A roof in Banff and a roof in High River are not the same job.

Most roofing companies list towns on a page and leave it there. The trouble is that southern Alberta is not one climate. Drive an hour in any direction from Calgary and the thing most likely to take your roof out changes completely.

South and east of the city, it is hail. The corridor running from High River up through Okotoks, Calgary, Chestermere and Airdrie sits in the most hail-punished part of the country, and a single afternoon in July can put a whole subdivision into claims. That work lives and dies on documentation, adjuster scopes and impact-rated material choices.

West of the city it flips. Cochrane and the Bow Valley get chinooks that swing a roof through freeze and thaw dozens of times a winter, and Canmore and Banff carry snow loads and altitude UV that punish detailing far more than they punish shingles. Ice at the eave, not hail on the field, is what fails there.

We write each area page around what actually goes wrong in that place, because that is what you are trying to find out before you hire anybody.

Calgary Ring Towns

The hail corridor

The stretch running north from High River through Calgary and up past Airdrie sits in the part of Alberta that gets hit hardest by summer hail. Most of the work out here starts with a storm and an insurance adjuster.

Inside The City

Calgary communities

Northwest Calgary is where we started and where most of our work still is. These pages cover the housing stock and the roof problems specific to each community, from the 1970s bungalows in Varsity to the steep-pitch estate homes up in Bearspaw.

Same Everywhere

What does not change with the postal code.

Plenty of contractors quote out-of-town work differently, or quietly hand it to whoever is closest. We do not, and it is worth being specific about what that means.

One price list

Your quote is built from the roof: square footage, pitch, tear-off layers, material. There is no line item for the drive, and no premium because you are in Canmore instead of Crowfoot.

Our own crews

The people on your roof are ours. Out-of-town jobs are not subcontracted to a local outfit whose work we have never seen and whose warranty we cannot stand behind.

Itemized quotes

Every estimate breaks out tear-off, underlayment, ice and water, flashing, ventilation and disposal separately, so you can compare us against anyone else honestly.

20-year workmanship warranty

The same warranty follows the job wherever it is, on top of whatever the manufacturer covers on the material itself.

FAQ

Working outside the city.

No. Our quotes are priced on the roof itself, the square footage, the pitch, the number of layers coming off and the material going back on. We do not add a line for driving to Okotoks or Cochrane. The one place travel shows up is scheduling, because a crew heading to Banff or Red Deer is committed to that job for the day rather than splitting between two.

We work regularly through the whole ring of towns around the city, west into the Bow Valley as far as Banff, east to Strathmore and north to Red Deer. If you are outside that and want an honest answer, call (587) 325-7736 and ask. We would rather tell you we are not the right fit than send a crew two hours each way and rush the job to make it pay.

Same crews, everywhere. We do not hand off out-of-town work to a local sub and put our name on the warranty. The people on your roof in High River are the same people who would be on it in Tuscany, and the 20-year workmanship warranty is ours to honour either way.

Yes, and it is worth knowing before you sign anything. Straight like-for-like shingle replacement is usually exempt across the region, but structural changes, sheathing replacement and anything on a designated property are handled by each municipality on its own terms. Banff is the strictest by a wide margin. We flag what applies on your specific job and pull what needs pulling.

That is most of what we do between June and September. We inspect and document the damage properly, give you a scope your adjuster can actually work from, and meet the adjuster on site when it helps. You do not need a local contractor for an insurance job. You need one who will not walk away when the supplement gets argued.

Do not see your town on the list?

Call us and ask. We cover more ground than we have pages for, and if you are genuinely out of range we will say so instead of taking the deposit.
